The Salkantay trek lasts 5 days and 4 nights, where you can enjoy spectacular scenery and indescribable experiences.

Day 1: CUSCO – SORAYPAMPA.

After our lunch we can go to visit the beautiful lake of Humantay (4.200 M.A.S.L.), where we can appreciate nature in all its splendor, and in the Lake our guide will give us information about this wonderful place, then we will have a Certain time to take photos/videos for our memory, then we will start the hike back to Soraypampa; That’s where we’ll have our dinner and rest for our next day tour.
Day 02: SORAYPAMPA-CHAULLAY.
After enjoying our forceful breakfast that will be at approximately 7:00 am; We’ll be ready to start our tour. We will begin our hike to Salkantaypampa, continue our journey on the left side of the mountain called Humantay snowy; It is located (5.950 M.A.S.L.) near the Salkantay snow. At 12:00 approximately we will reach the highest point of the Salkantay which is located in the middle of the 2 mountains called Apacheta (4.650 M.A.S.L.) From this point we can see the impressive mountains and glaciers of salkantay, and so we can appreciate the Terrible avalanches occurring in the place, then descend downhill towards Huayracmachay for a time of half an hour, where will be our comforting and exquisite lunch, then continue our hike to the edge of Cloud forest, Taking advantage of the biodiversity of flora and fauna, until reaching the second camp called Chaullay. Travel time 8 to 9 hours and total hike is about 22 kilometers.
Day 3: CHAULLAY – SANTA TERESA.
Continuing our beautiful tour; On this day we will take our comforting breakfast and then start our tour; And this day will be the best of all, for the variety of flora and fauna, that we will see during the course of our trip. We also appreciate the formation of hot springs in a small valley. We walk in the forest to know the varieties of plants such as orchids; We will continue to the edge of Salkantay and Santa Teresa river to appreciate fabulous waterfalls of great magnitude; In turn, appreciate the variety of coffee, fruit trees, bananas, avocados, passion fruit. Also see the variety of Coca crops, considered the sacred leaf of our ancestors which is currently cultivated in tropical areas, this last section will be downhill to place called La playa (1,900 M.A.S.L.) where we take our lunch. and from there towards Santa Teresa on a bus where we’ll spend the night. Optional visit the hot waters of Cocalmayo.
Day 4: SANTA TERESA – AGUAS CALIENTES.
The sunrise will be within a tropical area full of history and nature, here our breakfast awaits ready to taste, then we enter the Inca trail, walk through the middle of coffee plantations, Coca and fruit trees, passing by the well-known rest center Called “Hidroelectrica”, at this point we will take our lunch at a tourist restaurant in the area, then continue our tour making stops in different places to appreciate simply the scenery and its surroundings full of waterfalls with Impressive falls, which come from the glaciers, arrive in the afternoon to the village popularly known as “Aguas calientes”, there we spend the night and rest for the next day. Our guide will give us some instructions for the next day’s tour.
Day 5: MACHUPICCHU-CUSCO.
After breakfast, very early we will begin our trek towards the Inca city of Machupicchu. Our goal is to arrive early to see the sunrise and take the best views of this beautiful enclosure, before arriving tourists who come along the Inca Trail and the first bus that comes out of Aguas Calientes. Then we will have the opportunity to tour the main attractions of this wonderful archaeological complex of Machupicchu and those who have reservations to go up to Huaynapicchu will have free time to climb this beautiful place. After touring all Machupicchu and taking into account the exit of our train of return, we will return to the village of Aguas Calientes to take our food and then we go to the station to board our train that will take us to Ollantaytambo. There our staff will be waiting to board the bus that will bring us back to the city of Cusco.
